My definition of a good afternoon.

Two nommy things!

I love how the book and the movie have such a similar feel while having some major character and event changes. There’s this really cool blend of texture and tastes with some pretty heavy concepts; it’s sensual, funny and substantial at the same time, usually without any one becoming overpowering. The author doesn’t try to pretend that Vianne is perfect, and while the priest can be pretty irritating to read at first there is definitely more to him. When I started to see that, it got me thinking back over a lot of stuff I’d wanted to brush over before and wanting to kick myself a bit for making a lot of assumptions. I also really like that you never know just how real the magic in this world is.
